GREAT SOLSTICE JOURNEY

Day 1
June 18th …Depart from home, arrive by 4:30am to Lima. We will help with the customs and continue to the domestic flights counter for your flght to Cusco. Reception in Cusco, bus transfer to Ollantaytambo. In the afternoon, we will explore the city.  Welcome ceremony. Overnight in town.
Day 2
June 19th …We will visit the amazing site of Ollantaytambo, the Temple of the Winds.  Walk to the site  named Intiwatana, we will explore it and then we will have an amazing blessing ceremony with water.
We ride to the highest point on the road Chinchero to Cusco.  Overnight at Ollantaytambo.
Day 3
June 20th …10:30am we travel to Machupicchu by train.  An amazing ride overlooking the Urubamba river. Transfer to the hotel for a quick check in and lunch. 1:30pm wWe take a bus to Machupicchu site, excursion to the power places. Sunset and hunan chasqa Andean batptism…overnight at Aguas calientes.
Day  4 
June 21st …Back to Machupicchu - optional program choices:  Photography, meditation, personal work or hiking.    Here are the choices …
6:00am …* Temple of the Moon or *Waynapicchu mountain hikes, 2 ½ hours for each of them.  We can mixed up both Waynapicchu & Temple of the Moon - 4 hours of hard hiking.
NOW - They give tickets in the entrance gate of the site, you have to collect them by 6:00am in the morning  (only 400 people are allowed in the site per day).
*Machupicchu Mountain, 5 hours hike (hard & demanding), but an amazing climb done as a pilgrimage. Leave between 7:00am to 9:00am latest time because weather can change in the afternoon.
*Inka trail and Inka bridge are quite easy walks, 2 hours round trip.  This hike can be done at anytime of the day, no ticket is require.
*Stay on the site. Exploring is highly recommended. We will celebrate the solstice during our vist in Machupicchu.  Dinner in town. We will overnight at Aguas calientes.
Day 5
June 22nd …Early train back to Ollantaytambo village, then we will ride a bus across the Sacred Valley of the Inkas to Pisac (we will visit in the market and the sacred site briefly). We will visit Awanacancha, seeing the camels at the living museum which has ancient weaving samples.  Local people from some communities of the Andes, come to show ancient traditional weavings.  It holds an space where they raise the different kinds of  camels of the Andes and the use of different wools.  Overnight in Cusco.
Day 6
June 23rd …We will explore Sacsaywaman National Park, Temple of the Sun. Tour city of Cusco - the local sites and museums, the shaman markets, San Blas, and Inka streets… Rest of the day you are free to explore.  Farewell dinner and overnight in Cusco.
Day 7
June 24th …A free morning for your to explore and shop.  Afternoon flight back to Lima connecting to USA in the evening.
Tips for the trip…
* Connect in Miami and fly AA 2111 leaves Miami at 11:30pm arrives Lima 4:30am, then you can connect to Cusco by Lan Peru … , return AA 918 leaves Lima at mid-night arrives Miami in the  morning for connecting a domestic flight back home around mid-day.
